Yankee doodle came to town

The principal players of the US marine band are in town and they're having more of a holiday than anything else.

More importantly, I passed my course and am now on course for 82 more weeks of saxophone playing and drills. Goodbye No.4, Hello No. 1 2 3 and 5. In which case, officers can never tempt me with their No. 1 uniforms because I'll wear it more often than them. But still, they'll get back at me with their $$.

I always complain that MINDEF made me lose 6 months of my life waiting for NS. True, and I'll never forget that. But to me, there was a greater plan. Would have such a clear path to SAF Bands? Will I pass so easily considering that I had not played in 2 years?

Well, so I pass with a distinction in theory and pass in everything else which makes it a pass. Friends? They are acquaintances and in fact in singapore, NJC has still been the place where I have the closest people to me who it seems aren't that close considering I don't show my face often enough in the past 2 years. It suggests to me that I'll be pretty lonely for teh remaining 1 year 7 months with books as my closest companions. Makes me miss dear perth more and more and secretly, I'm hoping somebody makes the trip here over the summer.

I've got 4 days of leave outstanding and monday or tuesday would be the time I start applying for leave on the 1 2 3 and 26 of december. Really do hope I get it even though I'm not sure if I'll get the 1, 2, 3.

So what exactly is the focus of this post? I actually just wrote this to feel slightly less lonely. Partially because what I value is so different from others and my prudence borders or even crosses the "stingy" line. Partially because of how I react to people. Which is why I just hope with a new band I'll get new chances. To change my second part? possible. first part? Unless there is something I haven't considered, no.

With a new band, I'll be staying in soon. Which is good, giving more time to read, study, and probably find out the length and breadth of yishun to ang mo kio. Closer but farther to some.

For now, I'll be contented to spend the night with teh ghost of Christmas Past Present and Yet to Come as well as Edmond Dantes. And maybe Pip in future. Mr Lockwood, Catherine Earnshaw as well as Ms Christie's works beckon to be read. Till then, There's a hope.
